About Me

My name is Ben Evans and I’m a Technical Architect Manager for ComputerWorld Systems Ltd. based in Bristol, UK. In my day job I lead a team of Pre-Sales Architects that deliver technical solutions to our customer base with my focus areas being virtualisation and cloud.

I’ve been in the IT industry since 2005 starting out in desktop support roles before moving into infrastructure support. I was introduced to server virtualisation around 2007 (VI3) with my first production system being installed in 2008 running ESX 3.5. Since then I’ve been hooked and love all things VMware. Fast forward 10 years or so and my day job continues to allow me to work with the core components of VMware’s Software Defined Datacenter (SDDC) including vSphere, NSX and vSAN.

In 2018 I was accepted into the VMware vExpert program and six months later also accepted into the vExpert NSX sub-program. I’ve passed many (and failed a fair few) exams over the last decade and my current list of active certifications can be found here

Outside of work (and technology) I’m a proud father to two daughters and a keen follower of Bath and England rugby.
